Inverness Caledonian Thistle manager Terry Butcher is keen to extend the loan arrangement of Roman Golobart. Butcher is expected to contact Roberto Martinez shortly asking for the central defender’s loan spell to be extended until the end of the season.
Golobart, who scored his first career goal on Saturday during a 2-1 victory over Aberdeen has been improving rapidly since arriving in Scotland in August and Martinez is anxious that the player gets as much experience as possible before risking the ‘Beast’ in the Premier League.
It seems this solution would suit all three parties, but even so, a decision may only be made should Martinez feel that his club has suitable reinforcements either now or at the conclusion of the upcoming transfer window.

Another “half-season” over the border would probably do him more good than a Premiership relegation battle.
